À propos de cette écoute
From the moment radiation was discovered in the late nineteenth century, nuclear science has had a rich history of innovative scientific exploration and discovery, coupled with mistakes, accidents, and downright disasters.
Mahaffey, a long-time advocate of continued nuclear research and nuclear energy, looks at each incident in turn and analyzes what happened and why, often discovering where scientists went wrong when analyzing past meltdowns.
Every incident has lead to new facets in understanding about the mighty atom—and Mahaffey puts forth what the future should be for this final frontier of science that still holds so much promise.

All in all, a wonderful, interesting, fascinating overview of a whole set of problems that occurred in connexion to everything Nuclear. An industry like any other in most regards, but one that scares a lot of people beyond the reality of the Nuclear industry.
My one regret is that I would have loved this book to be twice as long to get much more details about the accidents.
If you only know bout Fukushima and Tchernobyl, if you want to discover the specific challenges and patterns behind Nuclear Accidents, you will enjoy this read. A good reminder that there is no freedom without knowledge.
As for the audiobook specifics :
+1 for including a great pdf with schematics for quite a few accidents. This is VERY helpful.
+1 reading style : perfect for me. Calm, clear, very easy to follow and understand, very enjoyable tone of voice.
So congratulations to the editor for doing the job that should go into every audiobook 👍
