Description
In this enthralling companion to his New York Times best seller Every Day, David Levithan (coauthor of Will Grayson, Will Grayson with John Green) tells Rhiannon's side of the story as she seeks to discover the truth about love and how it can change you.
Every day is the same for Rhiannon. She has accepted her life, convinced herself that she deserves her distant, temperamental boyfriend, and even established guidelines by which to live: Don't be too needy. Avoid upsetting him. Never get your hopes up.
Then comes the morning when everything changes. Justin seems to see her, to want to be with her for the first time, and they share a perfect day - a perfect day Justin doesn't remember the next morning. Confused, depressed, and desperate for another day as great as that one, Rhiannon starts questioning everything. Then, one day, a stranger tells her that the Justin she spent that day with, the one who made her feel like a real person...wasn't Justin at all.

Good
I had to get this book, despite the negative review, just because I loved every day so much!I'm going to make this short and sweet because I'm typing on my phone, and I'm not very good at reviewing anyway...
Is this as good as "Every Day?"
No.
Is it worth reading?
Yes! Only if you've read "every day."
This is essentially the same story shown through Rhiannon's eyes. This book isn't nearly as captivating as "Every Day," but it fills in some missing pieces. With this book, you get the whole story. Rhiannon and I have a love hate relationship. I hate how she jerks "A" around, but at the same time... I can understand why it's so hard to give herself to someone who is going to be someone different every day. Love is love. But attraction plays a big role in things whether we realize it or not.
The narrator did well most of the time. The only complaint I have is that sometimes she makes "A" seem like a robotic, empty, shell.
Almost as though I'm listening to Siri. This may not have bothered me or been apparent if I didn't listen to the first book.
Basically, it's a good book. If you're like me and loved every day, it's worth a read. You get to be inside the head of the person that "A" wanted to give It all up for. You get to see what happens when they're not together, and what's going through her head when they are.
Aaaaand that sums it up.

Not a Sequel
I did not realize when I purchased this "sequel" that it was the same story - word for word - as the first book. It certainly added some depth to the story to hear it from Rhiannon's perspective, but I had been hoping to continue the story rather than repeat Book 1.

This is not REALLY book 2
Any additional comments?
The first book ended so abruptly that when i saw "book 2" i assumed this was the sequel. It's not. It's just book one from R's perspective. I liked R a lot in book one. But after about an hour into this book, you realize how kind of pathetic she is. I'm a bit sad I listened to it because now I feel differently towards her. I eventually just stopped listening.

Same story - different perspective.
I absolutely loved Every Day - such a new and interesting premise. Another Day completes the story by giving Rhiannon's point of view.

Same Day
I read Every Day after seeing the movie and was pleasantly surprised that it was an alternate take from a different point of view and not just the same story I had just seen. So I was really looking forward to moving into uncharted territory and a brand new story with this book, but THIS is the book that was actually the basis of the movie. So for the 3rd time I'm back in the same slog again and this time I'm really bored with it. I was so disappointed when this book started in the same place with Rhiannon back with Justin again and going to the beach again, all of that again. I listened to the entire book on 2X speed to just to catch the few kernels of new material that randomly drop here and there. I hope the next book is an actual new story and not just same story again from some new perspective. There was a subtle change in tone at the very end of this book that suggests an opening for a new direction. Make it a good one, please!

Deja Vu
It is exactly the same story as Every Day, just from Rhiannon's perspective. Why bother?

This rating does not reflect my misunderstanding
I thought this book was okay. I went into it thinking that it was a continuation of Every Day, but it was actually Rhiannon's story which was disappointing. However, I did find it interesting to know her reactions to meeting a new person and some of the things that were going on in her head, but realistically I felt like the author just added some additional content in Rhiannon's POV and left the rest of the information the same as the original story. There was nothing really original about it and while I understand that things cannot be entirely different due to the nature of this story, it still seemed to fall short with content specifically related to Rhiannon. Given the change in POV I expected a little more from Rhiannon unfortunately.

I wish they combined the first book with this one
I listened to this book and while it was good.. it was not as enjoyable because I already knew what was going to happen. I wish I had read the reviews before I listened. If there is a way to to tell both sides of this story in one book, in my opinion that would have worked out better for me. I did not like having to listen to the same conversations twice. I would really have liked the character insights, surprises and the plot turns MORE hearing from both sides as they lead up to the conclusion of the story.
My only advice is listen to this one if your are a stickler for the details.. other wise, it is too much repetition.

Not the sequel I hoped for...
I definitely struggled to finish it because the storyline was so repetitive. I even caught some moments when they were talking and what was said was not accurate to the first book. The one redeeming factor was that you got to hear the voices of the other people A inhabited for a day.

Don’t Waste your Money
This is NOT a sequel, but a retelling of the exact same story through another’s eyes. Wasted a credit on this heap!
