Sam Floyd leads a normal life until Special Detective Erica Sayles unexpectedly appears one day and asks for his help to catch a killer. But not just any killer. In an alternate universe, Erica’s been pursuing Thomas Weir, Sam’s homicidal other self.
Despite Sam’s reservations, Erica convinces him to accompany her to a different version of Earth. Sam soon finds himself in a technologically advanced society where high-ranking police officers can change their appearance at will and the president holds daily televised dance parties.
Channeling a unique emotional and psychic connection to Thomas, Sam assists Erica in tracking him. But stopping Thomas doesn’t prove easy. He takes Erica and Sam down an ambitiously twisted trail of murder that ultimately puts both of their worlds in jeopardy.
