Calling all Sci-Fi Romance and Space Opera fans! Disgraced pilot Johnson and Sammie, a Terwillian, are drunk in the Orbit, an asteroid belt mining bar, watching the exotic calabash dancers. Johnson is bonkers for one dancer, the beautiful Alashoa (Eyes like dark limpid pools.. You can imagine… ). But Alashoa mysteriously disappears!
Desperate to find her, Johnson joins Sammie aboard his ship, the Lily Langtree to search for her. Soon the Lily is in trouble. Sammie is forced to call Mabel at Acme Deep Space Towing for a tow. Sammie's desperate plan to rescue themselves (and get rich) involves salvaging the enormous derelict mining ship, the Fortunata, assuming they can find her, and assuming they can slingshot the Sigma Gap, a route no one has (so far) survived.
