According to numerous academic studies, that puts me at risk for over 23 negative health outcomes, including diabetes, cardiovascular, digestive, respiratory and liver disease, cancer, and mental health issues such as anxiety, depression and thoughts of suicide.
I wanted to understand the hows and whys so I could avoid those outcomes.
ACES HIGH is my story of abuse and trauma recovery. In it, I explore generational trauma and PTSD and share the details of what it is like living with a disability and how the physiological trauma and sexual abuse and assault I suffered manifested in disease. I reveal how I confronted low self-worth, let go of resentments and dealt with my anger, rage, and shame.
