A Way Out: A Story of Race, Poverty and Christianity tackles the three most difficult topics in America—race, poverty and of course Christianity.
The book chronicles the backbreaking work of Angela’s southern parents in the late 50’s and the limited choices the parents had for their children. They find a way out. However, the pains of race and poverty proved to be inescapable.
Angela, now a child, of the north—is pulled back to the south to uncover the depth of race and poverty her parents (and many others) face. Christianity is also explored as a way through trials and as a way of rethinking repetitive and damaging actions when it comes to race and poverty.
