Great story adding additional content to fill the outlander series,
... but unlike the other short stories from Gabaldon (such as the Lord John stories) you will have a hard time to understand it if you have not read the main stories. Especially the end would be confusing and unsatisfying without knowledge of the time traveling. But if you read “An Echo in the Bone”, the story will be a very nice extension and provide a surprising ending. The reader is gorgeous as well, love the dark voice he uses for Roger...
