DNF, Poor voice over choice, slow story

I just can't finish listening to this book. I tried. I quit around 10% in, attempted to return it for a credit, but Audible wouldn't let me. So, I re-downloaded it and tried to continue. I am now just about halfway through and I can't take it anymore.

The voice actress has absolutely NO emotion. She sounds like she is bored and is being forced to read in front of her 9th grade glass. I get that the main character is an assassin, but the bored tone doesn't fit.

The story itself is so very slow. The "action" scenes are barely blips among all the mind-numbing inner thoughts and dialog. Maybe it would have been more interesting if a better narrator was chosen.

I want my credit back.

It was alright. Not bad not great. However, it could be needs more action and plot development.

Interesting

I liked this story. It did start slow, but I liked the concept and the characters.

Very good!

Not much smut until the end buttt well written! Can’t wait for book number 2!

Sporadic characters

I'm not a fan. it was hard to get as far as I did. The characters are too inconsistent, and their histories or don't lend well to their attitudes or actions. Indont think I can finish it, and I will not be looking for a sequel.

Amazing

Beautifuly written! So many twists and turns, and a slow burn which I absolutely love! The main character is powerful without it being overbearing, how she goes through and deals with things seem so realistic and human. This is definitely one of my favorites 5/5

enjoyed it thoroughly.

Want more. predicted a few things but I can usually do that with any story so I'm not making it down, the author did a good job hiding them. I'll be looking for more of the story is there is more to find <3

Wait what that's the end?

I love this story. listening to the struggle of the characters within. the balance of wonder and all the moments of pain relief. all of it was overwhelming and driving me to not want to reach the end but knowing that not putting it down was drawing it so much closer faster. the ending with shocking to say the least and completely unexpected. but not at the same time. the storyline of this book is so well planned and executed. the narrator if everything every emotion spot on. she brought this tale to Life and I am so thankful for her time in the amount of energy she put into this reading. I wish I would have waited till the second book was released. I am looking up other books that she has narrated. I'm placing pre-orders for the books by this amazing author! thank you so much for transporting me with every chapter.

This was surprisingly Good

The narrator did amazing. I have A LOT of audiable books and she is really good. I think some ppl just have a preference and listen to the sample before u buy or use a credit. This was a good story and performance.
