    Description

International best-selling author and leading global expert on mental strength Amy Morin turns her focus to feminism, explaining what it means - and what it takes - to be a mentally strong woman in the age of the #MeToo and #TimesUp movements.

The emergence of the #MeToo and #TimesUp movements have awakened society and encouraged women to find their voice and claim their power. But to do this, women must learn to improve their own mental strength. Contending with a host of difficult issues - from sexual assault on college campuses, to equal pay and pay gaps, to mastering different negotiation styles - demands psychological toughness. In this crucial audiobook, prominent psychotherapist and licensed clinical social worker Amy Morin gives women the techniques to build mental muscle - and just as important, she teaches them what not to do.

What does it mean to be a mentally strong woman? Delving into critical issues like sexism, social media, social comparison, and social pressure, Amy addresses this question and offers thoughtful, intelligent advice, practical tips, and specific strategies and combines them with personal experiences, stories from former patients, and both well-known and untold examples from women from across industries and pop culture. Throughout, she explores the areas women - and society at large - must focus on to become (and remain) mentally strong.

Amy reveals that healthy, mentally tough women don’t insist on perfection; they don’t compare themselves to other people; they don’t see vulnerability as a weakness; they don’t let self-doubt stop them from reaching their goals. Wise, grounded, and essential, 13 Things Mentally Strong Women Don’t Do can help every woman flourish - and ultimately improve our society as well.

    inspiring, insightful

I love the book! sometimes I had to listen to the section again it talks about 2 separate people but one lesson . I enjoy it ! I found this book insightful and at some point relatable , we're all going thru something. I highly recommend this book for people that need little understanding and some self interspection of the reasons why we feel or say things about ourselves.

REPEAT OF HER FIRST FANTASTIC BOOK ..STRONG PEOPLE

An above average psychologist with two similar books. Buy the first one it is superb! The Feminist point of views..many..redundant...got old. What part of "Strong People" do not include women,,so they need a separate platform?
As a licensed MD I'd like to have her address our concerns on COVID, pandemics and Political divide which are the hot buttons of today. Please give us a great new book..I'm sure the one on strong children is good..but I'd shoot fpr a Pulitzer on the next Book!
    A fan in Texas.

    Truely Inspiring

I’ve never been someone to be all about “girl power“ but this book opened my eyes. I found the book to be very inspiring and a really good read. Even if you’re not all about the power of women this book gives life insight into how mentally succeed and be a more strong minded woman. I highly recommend it. I didn’t care much for the narrator, her tone was a little depressing at times. Once I get used to her voice I could then focus on the book and it’s message.

'13 Things Women Might Hate About this Book?'

I liked '13 Things Mentally Strong Women Don't Do: Own Your Power, Channel Your Confidence, and Find Your Authentic Voice for a Life of Meaning and Joy' because I have actually had many of the same feelings and issues as the women described in the book.

Unfortunately, I don't think a majority of women I know would like this book just based the current star rating average of 4.4. The rating is likely down due to the anger by women down below. These people and the majority of women I know would potentially lament the book due to the possibility of getting triggered by facts, observations, or studies that show how women are afraid of the following:
    - Asking for raises
    - Being celebratory about their accomplishments
    - Glamorizing their LinkedIn pages
    - Letting guilt go
    - Talking about problems rather than solve them the way men do
    - Speaking up
    - Avoidance self-blame
    - The end to putting down or gossiping about other women

They might be happy if they read about her explaining how girls regulate their behaviors better than boys and women go to friends in times of stress as supposed to men to stick to fight or flight. Still, it will be awhile for this to be a 4.5-star book or greater.

    Great Book

As a busy mom, audio books are amazing. Finished this in 3 days and Amy dropped so many truths on our mentality and self doubt at times. Well, majority of times.

Definitely listening to her other books after this.

13 things mentally WEAK people do

Book tells you what WEAK people do but NOT what mentally strong people do. Wasted my money on this book.
