Author Mark Vincent Lincir was raised in San Pedro, California. Writers Robert Towne and Charles Bukowski also spent significant time in the Southern California port town. He has traveled to over 20 countries covering soccer and has played with and against many well-known footballers such as Rockin Rod Stewart, Andy McBride, Cobi Jones and Marcelo Balboa...to name a few.
He's written extensively about soccer during almost half a century being involved in world's game as a player, coach, journalist and fan. He famously blogged directly from Germany during his experiences as a writer for 90:00 Magazine during the 2006 World Cup. He played at at the college and pro levels in the USA and took a youth team to Europe to compete against clubs from all over the world shortly after graduating from California State Dominguez Hills as the only back-to-back-to-back Male Scholar Athlete of the Year.
He's written for the television show FC Fox as well as having his work featured at Yahoosports.com, Soccer365.com, Goal.com and 90min.com. He is the former Senior Editor for 90:00 Soccer Magazine. He is the author of several books including The Gift of Stoppage Time and A Soccer Life in Shorts. He runs a daily podcast called Soccer Living.
