When farmer Adam Jones is mysteriously murdered, his dead body is marked by three distinctive wounds. The locals nickname the killer the Three Clawed Devil. Baffled, the police never find the elusive murderer.
Penniless, Adam’s widow is forced to sell the family farm to wealthy landlord Denzil Edwards.
After years of toil on the farm, Denzil bullies Adam’s daughter Beca into marriage to his wastrel son Ernest.
Soon, though, Ernest himself is slain. Just when Beca thinks that she is safe, Denzil stuns her. He insists that he will cast aside his own wife to marry Beca.
Beca is suspicious. Why is Denzil so determined to marry her? What do Denzil and his wife know about the murders? She also learns that Ernest’s corpse carries three characteristic cuts. Has the Three Clawed Devil killed once again?
