The King James Version is an English translation of the Christian Bible begun in 1604 and first published in 1611 by the Church of England. The book of Proverbs is referred to as wisdom literature along with several others: the book of Job, Ecclesiastes, the Song of Solomon, and certain Psalms, known as wisdom psalms.
