Political Dissonance is an unapologetic podcast of resistance, one that analyzes systems of oppression, and the interplay of capitalism, racism, imperialism, and colonization. We reject these systems of conquest, extraction, exploitation, and domination, and explore other ways of being. Please join us the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month to meet with artists, activists, organizers, poets, teachers, and revolutionaries. We will struggle with one another. We will elevate one another. And we will build beloved community in the pursuit of our collective liberation.

Hi, I'm Chris O'Brian, 2-time graduate of USM currently serving as the Assistant Director of Student Engagement and Leadership with a mission to inform students, parents, alumni, and the community about what resources, departments, and opportunities are available at the University of Southern Maine. Voices from the Other Side is primarily intended, first of all, to be a beacon of hope and a true 'voice" for our "forgotten" incarcerated communities, of both women and men , within the confines of the Department of Corrections. Certainly our target audience( as well as interviewees) may very well be these same prisoners , who might otherwise ,for the most part, face an almost insurmountable task of ever being heard from, by the outside community, while serving out their sentences.
