San Valencez is a city with many levels. Near the barrio, on the south side of town, gangs rule the streets, and those that don’t find a way out tend to be sucked into the shadows and consumed. Not far away, near the border between the bad side of town and civilization, there are those standing up to the shadows. They aren’t superheroes, exactly, but they aren’t regular kids either. They have abilities, intelligence, strength, skill - and a desire to see their city become a better place.

I may be relinquished, but I am resigned. I will see the Ravens destroyed. Istanbul harbors the ancient clutch of vampires known as the Ravens, but the city has a thousand shadows and a million secrets. What I find there will be far more than I bargained for, and nothing I could have imagined. Some legends don’t want to be told.

The more I learn about what I really I am, the less I understand who I’m meant to be. Hood? Werewolf? Something else altogether? Figuring that out will have to wait. The fate of the slayers has been forced into my hands, and for their sake and mine, I need to hand them off to someone else ASAP. Where else could I go but to the hoods?

I was trying to avoid any werewolves in my life, and now I have to live with one? I want to worry about human things like how to dress for the first day of a new job or how to sneak a silver dagger past the metal detectors when I get there. But when you’re working in a company run by vampires, human concerns become trivial. What’s not is figuring out why my undead bosses are trapping and killing werewolves. But that might not be the only secret hiding in the walls of the WWL Corporation, and what I soon discover could turn the supernatural world on its head.

Can your name decide your fate? I was named after Gerwalta Faust, and if that means nothing to you, then you don't know the real story of Little Red Riding Hood. It is my birthright to lead the House of Red, my destiny to be the next Grand Matron of all hoods. But as the namesake of the Betrayer, am I also doomed to repeat her crimes?
