Once the group gets together and begin to compare notes, they start to wonder who paid for their stay and how they are related to both the benefactor and each other.

There is a new murder to investigate when a friend of Nikki's turns up dead. It seems that the death might be tied in with ghostly happenings at a new art gallery in town, but there are problems with that theory as well. Meanwhile, a whole new group of guests check in, including a man in town to investigate a century-old murder and a woman seeking answers to her past.

Abby finds out that she owns a small plot of land that was linked by deed to the land where the inn now sits. The deed linking the two parcels of land had been created even before Chamberlain Westminster bought it, and since the plot was basically worthless, it had been more than a century since anyone had paid a bit of attention to it. Until now, that is. Meanwhile a whole new group of guests check into the inn each with their own story to tell.

In the second book in the series, Syd is asked to help a man regain his memories after showing up a decade after he went missing with no memory of where he'd been since disappearing from his home when he was eight. Meanwhile, she continues to look for answers relating to Riley's attack, which seems an impossible task, until Kelly invites her to a meeting with Ezra's group who all pitch in to offer insight.

With the remodel complete, Lou and the gang have settled into what Lou hopes will be a regular weekly routine including the new senior sleuthing group Murder on Tuesdays. When the investigation into the authenticity of the haunted house the group selects begins to create modern-day problems for Lonnie, who has won the bid to remodel the mansion, Lou is forced to admit that the group may have gotten themselves in to something they likely shouldn't have.

Shelby decides to clean out the second floor of the building which had been used by the previous owner as a storage area. While clearing out the large dusty space, she finds a stack of boxes with so much dust on them that she is certain that they'd been there for decades. Shelby opens to boxes and finds items left behind from the owner of the garment factory that had utilized the space half a century ago. During the course of sifting through the old treasures, Shelby finds a journal that appeared to have been left behind by a man who lived in the area in the 1960s and '70s.

It's spring in Holiday Bay, and new guests have arrived to enjoy the plentiful sunshine. Lonnie has begun construction of the four new cottages, and decisions relating to color and design keep Abby hopping. Abby's most recent manuscript has been turned in, leaving time in her schedule to pitch in as a volunteer for the annual spring events, and everything is as it should be with the exception of the disturbing emails Georgia has been receiving.
