Good evening. Wyoming. I'm Aaron Jolly. Step outside right now and you might think spring arrived early. We're sitting at 44 degrees under clear skies. But enjoy it. Because winter is planning a comeback. In the next 24 hours. Tonight brings a full moon to light up those partly cloudy skies. Lows dip to 32 in the southeast, while central Wyoming stays mild at 42 degrees. Out west, snow moves in after 9 P.M. With 1 to 2 inches possible by morning. Thursday starts deceivingly pleasant. Southeast Wyoming surges to 61 degrees — that's nearly 20 degrees above normal for early March. Central areas hit 54. But by late afternoon, the atmosphere flips. Rain develops around 5 P.M. In the southeast. Central Wyoming sees a rain-snow mix by 2 P.M. Western areas stay snowy all day with a high of just 36 degrees. Thursday night into Friday is when things turn messy. A cold front plows through, dropping temperatures fast. That rain in the southeast changes to snow, with 1 to 3 inches possible. Winds howl out of the north at 20 to 30 miles an hour, gusting to 45. Blowing snow becomes a real concern. A Winter Storm Watch is posted for the South Laramie Range, where 4 to 8 inches could fall. Friday stays cold and windy. Highs only reach the low 30s in the southeast, mid-30s central, with lingering snow showers. The weekend brings redemption. Saturday turns sunny with highs in the low 40s. Sunday warms to the low 50s. Monday could hit 62 degrees again in the southeast. We're gaining nearly 3 minutes of daylight each day now. The spring equinox is just 16 days away.
