  • This One Thing May Be Stopping You From Finishing Your Book
    May 26 2026

A few weeks ago, I drove to Marshalls instead of sitting down to work on my book.

I did not want to open my computer and face the chapter that was waiting for me. I wanted the candles, the clearance rack, and the fifteen minutes of not thinking about it.

I sat in the parking lot before I went in. That is when I felt it. That quiet, firm, completely unmistakable Holy Spirit nudge that said — really? Are we really doing this right now?

So I did not go into Marshalls. I pulled out my voice memos, and I talked through an entire chapter right there in my car. Just me, my steering wheel, my screaming children, and God holding me accountable.

That chapter is some of the best writing in my book.

I am telling you this because I know you have your version of the Marshalls parking lot. Maybe it is the laundry you suddenly need to fold. Maybe it is the show you tell yourself you will just watch one episode of. Maybe it is the way you open your manuscript and then close it ten minutes later because the chapter feels too hard and too heavy and too much for you to write.

The middle of a book is just hard. That is the truth people aren't talking about these days. It is tedious, slow, and it asks more of you than the beginning did. The temptation to lay it down is beyond strong. If you have felt this, I know this episode will change everything for you.

In this episode, I am walking you through my free Book Finish Line Map, which is a tool I made specifically for the writer who is almost there, but cannot seem to get across the finish line. We are going to figure out exactly what is stopping you and exactly what to do about it.

Go grab the Book Finish Line Map at writingyourgodledbook.com and have it open when you listen.
