Dear Living from Rest,

We have walked through Jesus’ invitation in Mark 6 verse 31. Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest. In this final episode, we learn what it means to not only receive rest, but to live from it.

Living from rest means carrying His peace into your everyday moments. It is moving with His rhythm instead of the pressure around you. When the disciples rested with Jesus, their time with Him prepared them to pour out again. Rest restores what calling requires.

Jesus invites you into the same rhythm. Come away with Me. Be filled. Then live from overflow. Peace becomes your atmosphere. Stillness becomes your strength. His presence becomes your grounding.

Take a breath. Release the hurry. Whisper, Lord, I am here. Rest is not escape. Rest is alignment. When you live from His presence, you move with grace, clarity, and confidence.

This series may end, but your rhythm of rest continues. Walk gently. Love deeply. Carry His peace wherever you go.

Dear Rest for the Weary Soul,

Welcome back to REST. Today we sit with the part of Mark 6 verse 31 that becomes a lifeline for anyone who feels drained. Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest. This is not rest for the body alone. This is rest for the soul that has been holding too much for too long. The kind of tired you cannot sleep away.

Jesus sees the heaviness you carry. He sees the places where joy feels distant and peace feels fragile. And He simply says, come to me. Not to work harder. Not to pretend you are fine. Just come.

He promises rest for every weary place inside of you. True rest is not found in distractions or in trying to hold everything together. True rest comes when your soul lets go and leans into Him again. The one who restores. The one who strengthens. The one who carries you.

Maybe today your heart feels stretched thin. Maybe disappointment, grief, or constant giving has left you empty. Jesus is not asking you to fix it. He is asking you to bring it. His rest renews what life has drained. His presence restores what effort cannot.

Take a breath. Place the weight you feel into His hands. Let your heart whisper, Lord, I am tired. I come to you. Rest begins right there.

As you slow down, remember this. Rest is not running from purpose. Rest is returning to strength. You cannot pour from an empty soul, but when you rest in Him, you begin to overflow again.

So today, choose one quiet moment with Jesus. Sit. Breathe. Let Him fill the places you have been carrying alone. He is your rest. He is your renewal. He is your peace.

Dear Rest in His Presence

Welcome back to REST, a December journey of slowing down, breathing deep, and finding stillness in God. In Mark 6 verse 31, Jesus says, Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest. Today we sit with the next part of His invitation, to a place where we can be alone. This is where rest becomes personal. This is where rest becomes presence.

Rest is not only stepping away from noise. It is stepping into Him. The quiet place Jesus calls us to is not just a physical location. It is the stillness of being near Him. Peace does not come from silence alone. Peace comes from presence. God told Moses, My presence will go with you and I will give you rest. We do not chase rest to find God. We find God and rest follows.

Think of Mary sitting at the feet of Jesus. She was not doing anything impressive. She was simply being with Him. That is the heart of rest. Not activity. Not performance. Presence. When was the last time you sat with Jesus without asking for anything, without rushing, without fixing, just being with Him.

He restores the soul that pauses. He calms the heart that comes close. He quiets the mind that makes room for Him. This is rest. Not earned. Received.

So today, create a moment of stillness. Sit with Him. Whisper, Lord, I am here. Let His presence settle your spirit and renew what life has drained.

Jesus is inviting you to step away from the noise and meet Him in the quiet.

The world is loud. Our thoughts are loud. Life can pull at us from every direction. But Jesus calls you into stillness, not to escape your life, but to breathe again. Solitude with Him is not isolation. It is restoration. It is the place where the noise fades and His voice becomes clear.

When you slow down enough to be alone with Jesus, your heart settles. Your mind softens. Your spirit comes back into alignment. This is where peace begins. This is where rest becomes real.
