Michelle’s journey proves that people are rarely just one thing. A California native turned Louisiana local, Michelle has spent over a decade growing with WVC and now serves as our head technician leading teams, mentoring others, and keeping the heartbeat of the clinic steady.

Outside of vet med, her story has some unexpected chapters: spinning music as a roller rink DJ, stepping into the ring as a boxer, and proudly repping the Green Bay Packers in the middle of Cajun country. Add in motherhood, a demanding full-time career, and pursuing her master’s degree, and you get a woman who understands discipline, balance, and resilience at a deep level.

This episode is about growth, grit, and embracing every season of life from the fast-paced chaos to the quiet determination it takes to keep showing up.

In this episode, Kylie sits down with Dr. Ashton Whittington’s newest veterinarian and one of our fearless large animal docs under Dr. P. Fresh out of LSU, she jumped headfirst into a field still mostly run by the boys… and she’s proving every day that she belongs right there beside them, rope in hand and boots on the ground. We talk about what it’s like navigating the first year out of vet school, the challenges (and perks) of being a woman in a traditionally male-dominated corner of the profession, and the moments that made her fall in love with large animal medicine in the first place. She shares stories from the field, the lessons she’s learning on the fly, and the grit it takes to carve her own place. And yes, we’re getting into the real talk about finding confidence, earning respect, and keeping your head up when folks underestimate you.

If you love hearing about purpose, passion, and breaking barriers with a little dirt under your nails, this episode’s your ride-along.
