      The farmer’s market in Carlisle is making a move. The town says it’s moving the market across the street to the high school Saturday. People will get to buy produce and checkout the Carlisle Pickers & the Car Show from 9-3 PM.

      Some towns in the Des Moines area are trying to conserve water because of the summer heat. Altoona and Johnston have asked people to limit how much they water their lawns and gardens. But Des Moines Water Works is asking everyone to conserve water.

      The Des Moines area will see a smokey haze. The National Weather Service says the haze will be widespread after 2PM. 

      IowaWORKS is having a Career Fair at Central Library. The DSM Library says the event will be on Thursday, September 7 from 11:30 AM-1:30 PM.

      Slow Down Coffee in Des Moines is brewing coffee for early risers. The Des Moines shop in Highland Park says it will officially be open at 6:30 AM Tuesdays through Fridays. The shop is closed on Mondays.

      Waukee Parks and Recreation has posted its Fall & Winter Program Guide. The city says people of all ages can begin registering for classes, events, leagues and more Thursday. Click here for the guide.
