And the faucet isn't turning off yet. A Flood Watch is in effect for northern West Virginia through Wednesday afternoon. Those creeks and streams are rising fast, so if you're near a flood-prone area, keep your eyes peeled. In the next 24 hours. Tonight, the heaviest rain sets up shop in the Northern Panhandle. You're looking at another quarter to half an inch overnight with patchy fog rolling in. Lows stick around a mild 50 degrees. Down in Central West Virginia, the rain just keeps coming with lows near 53. Southern West Virginia gets a bit of a break — about a coin flip on rain with lows dipping to 47. Wednesday stays soggy. The Northern Panhandle deals with rain and fog all day, highs only reaching 58. Central West Virginia warms to 66 with more rain and maybe a rumble of thunder. Southern areas climb to 64 with scattered showers. But here's plot twist, summer is crashing the party in March. By Thursday. Central West Virginia surges to 78 degrees. Friday? We're talking 82 degrees. That's nearly 47 degrees above normal. We're gaining two minutes of daylight every single day. And spring is officially just two weeks away. The weekend brings another round of storms Saturday. A cold front slides through Sunday, but even then, highs stay in the upper 60s.
