Good afternoon. Washington. I'm Aaron Jolly. That steady drumming of rain overnight? Just the opening act. We picked up about fifteen hundredths of an inch. And now the atmosphere is getting restless. In the next 24 hours. Here's the situation. Puget Sound sits at 51 degrees right now, climbing to 53 this afternoon. Thunderstorms could fire up — especially around the Sound where chances peak near 90 percent between 1 and 4 P.M. Those storms roll through midday, then rain continues tonight with a low of 42 degrees. Down in the South Sound, you're slightly warmer. Highs reach near 54 degrees with that same thunderstorm threat. Winds gust to about 12 miles an hour, adding a bite to that damp air. Head east over the Cascades and it's a different scene. Eastern Washington sees rain likely through this afternoon with highs near 49 degrees. But tonight? Temperatures drop to 33 degrees. That cold morning tomorrow will feel like 27 degrees on exposed skin. Mountain travelers, take note. A Winter Weather Advisory kicks in at 7 P.M. For the Blue Mountains. Six to ten inches of snow and gusts to 35 miles an hour will make travel difficult through Thursday night. Looking ahead, this wet pattern holds firm. Rain stays in the forecast every day through the weekend. By Sunday into Monday, a stronger system arrives with heavier mountain snow and gusty winds. Then temperatures drop early next week. We could even see a rain-snow mix in the lowlands by Monday. One bright note tonight. Step outside after the rain eases and catch the full moon rising. We're gaining over three minutes of daylight each day now. Spring equinox sits just two weeks away. For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast as confidence improves. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.
