À propos de ce contenu audio

Welcome to Erin Luchterhand Coaching: Virtual Education Intervention Podcast! This podcast is designed to educate, encourage, and entertain families and educators who live and work with neurodivergent friends and family. Perhaps you have a child with Dyslexia, ADHD, or ASD, or you are a teacher/tutor looking for strategies to better support your learners - welcome, I’m glad you’re all here! Sometimes we all just need a little more community. We benefit from having people in our lives who understand how we live, how we work, and what our minds are consumed with daily - and we need support and encouragement within that space. That’s what this podcast seeks to produce - a community for those living in the world of special education and neurodivergence. In addition to being a special educator (of 15 years) and an interventionist, I’m also a mother. I have 4 lovely children and one of them with an IEP. Let me tell ya, having been on both sides of the IEP process (teacher and parent), it’s a whole heck of a lot different when it’s your kid. What qualifies me to speak on these topics? Well… As a passionate and forward-thinking specialist, I have successfully developed and championed three programs specifically designed for individuals with disabilities/ neurodiversity, ages PreK-12 and adult. In doing so, I’ve used research-based strategies and current data to teach, while developing assessments, curriculum, programming, and leading teaching teams. One of my proudest career moments came in 2015 when I was named one of Exceptional Parent Magazine’s Teacher of the Year. I value providing exceptional educational services and believe that education should serve a higher purpose than to ”pass a test.” Education, even at a young age, should prepare our kids for success in life (not just school). If you remember one thing about me, remember this - I value using the right tools for each learner’s need because I value each learner individually. Having spent much of my career teaching neurodivergent learners virtually, I have mastered rapport-building, specific teaching strategies, and family communication designed to produce the most effective outcome for your child. The remote setting allows me to teach and support students despite their geographic location. I provide intervention and coaching no matter the distance, bridging the gap nationwide. With an emphasis on relationship-building, I employ systematic research-based intervention strategies such as Orton Gillingham. There is a huge connection between executive function skill development and areas of concern in academic and life functions. My work almost always employs the support of executive function skills, whether in academics or coaching. Welcome, I’m glad you are here! Come and join our community of family and educators seeking to build each other up, share information, and provide perspective. I think we’ll all get some good information, encouragement and a few laughs!Copyright 2025 All rights reserved.
