Good evening. Virginia. I'm Jack O'Malley. That dusting of snow yesterday? Already a fading memory. We're about to flip the script in a big way. In the next 24 hours. Right now, a stubborn wedge of cool air has us socked in under gray skies. Central Virginia sits at 47 degrees. Hampton Roads and Western Virginia both sit at 45. It's that damp, overcast chill that seems to cling to your jacket. But change is coming. A warm front lifts north tonight. Fog develops after midnight across the west and coast. The Eastern Shore has a Dense Fog Advisory until 8 P.M. Tonight — visibility down to a quarter mile in spots. Lows hold in the mid-40s statewide. Tomorrow the transformation begins. Western Virginia surges to 74 degrees. Central Virginia reaches 70. Hampton Roads stays cooler at 63 with that coastal influence. A slight chance of rain brushes northern areas by afternoon. Thursday through Saturday? Highs near 80 degrees inland. Friday could hit 82 in Central and Western Virginia — that's roughly 45 degrees above normal for early March. We're talking mid-May warmth, not early March. The weekend stays warm but brings rain chances. Showers become likely Saturday night into Sunday. Could even hear a rumble of thunder. Tonight's full moon rises at sunset. We're gaining over two minutes of daylight each day now. Spring equinox sits just two weeks away. And it might already feel like it arrived. For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast as confidence improves. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.
