    • Ep. 17: Long Way Down
      Feb 22 2026

Terry J. Aman, left, and Minneapolis artist Mikey Heinrich.

Hiya! My name's Terry J. Aman and in this, my 17th episode of VideoFuzzy the Soundtrack titled "Long Way Down," I celebrate artists in my collection beginning with the letter M. Technically it's the second entry for M artists -- Ep. 16: Angels Would Fall focused on Melissa Etheridge and the half-dozen LPs of hers in my collection, and you can track that down as well.

My Title Track for this one, "Long Way Down," opens with Michael Penn's 1992 single by that name, which opens my conversation about Influences [artists with entire LPs in my collection]. I talk about Michael Penn's 1989 single "No Myth," and several tracks in his 1992 LP release "Free For All."

In other influences, I talk about Madonna, Maroon 5, Mindy Smith, Mannheim Steamroller and Meredith Brooks.

In Breakouts [artists with multiple songs in my collection], I feature original music and a conversation with longtime friend and Minneapolis artist Mikey Heinrich, who you can follow at his YouTube channel, absolute joy to chat with about his "Love Song to Jane Espensen" and more.

Other Breakouts in my collection I chat about Marilyn Manson, Matchbox 20, Muse, Miranda Lambert, Meghan Trainor, Memphis May Fire, The Mamas and The Papas, Michael Jackson, Me'shell Ndegeocello and Miss Li.

Under Sparks [artists with one song in my collection], I talk about Mary Chapin Carpenter, Missy Higgins, Moby, Mos Def, My Darkest Days f/ Ludacris, Moloko, The Mountain Goats, Murray Head, Missy Elliot f/ Mya, P!nk, Lil Kim and Christina Aguilera, Ming Tea and Masanori Akita.

As always, any "music" or "singing" anyone thought they heard in this tiny indie podcast I can assure you that it wasn't [from me, at least -- Mikey Heinrich's original works used with permission of the artist]. Any low-bar karaoke attempts were nothing more than simple sketch reference included for illustrative purposes to prompt listeners to track down and explore commercially available music through officially licensed sources and is by no means meant to infringe on anyone's copyright, licensing or distribution agreements. Go forth, buy songs and support the artists you love.

    • Ep. 16: Angels Would Fall
      Dec 29 2025

Hiya! My name's Terry J. Aman and breaking format a bit, my 16th episode of VideoFuzzy the Soundtrack, titled "Angels Would Fall," is an artist-focused episode about Melissa Etheridge.

Yup, my Apple Music collection features six LPs by this artist, including her self-titled release, "Brave and Crazy," "Never Enough," "Yes I Am," "Your Little Secret" and "Breakdown."

I open with a discussion of my first encounters with this artist, her music video for "Similar Features" and buying her self-titled LP release.

In "Title Track," I talk about the music video I recorded and sent to my now husband in the early days of our relationship, recording myself walking the residential streets of Minot, North Dakota, and my emotional connection to the song "Angels Would Fall." I share a clip of that video to VideoFuzzy's Instagram account here: https://www.instagram.com/videofuzzy.

I then talk about her "Yes We Are" tour with the Indigo Girls, which I missed hearing about by days when they were through my part of the world. Instead, I was able to check out her performance at the Fort Lauderdale War Memorial Auditorium on Jan. 21, 2025, posted to YouTube by the Skip Roper Sings account. You can check that out here for as long as it is posted: https://bit.ly/3MUZ9lq

Finally, I talk about some of the themes she explores in her discography, including sensuality, openness and commitment.

Also, this episode marks my second-ever entry in VideoFuzzy the Soundtrack: The Video! which you can check out here: https://youtu.be/NpO-5nIjXbo Enjoy!
