What happens when the weight of expectations shatters your life?

Being a pastor’s kid doesn’t protect you from divorce, temptation, financial struggle, or losing everything. We’ve lived through it—crossing lines we never thought we would, facing emptiness, and wondering if God could still use us.

UnqualifiedPK (UQPK) is where we tell the raw truth of our messiest moments—not to glorify the pain, but to point to the God who redeems it.

This is a space for anyone who feels too broken, too ashamed, or too far gone. Here, you’ll find stories of hope, healing, and grace that’s bigger than failure.

If you’ve ever felt unqualified—this channel is for you.
Pull up a chair. Let’s talk about the shame, the struggle, and the redemption.

Welcome to UQPK.

    • The Back Row of Faith | UQPK Ep9
      Jan 16 2026

In this episode of UnqualifiedPk, we talk about a kind of faith that doesn’t get much airtime — the faith that lives quietly in the background.

The kind that shows up every Sunday but sits against the back wall.
The kind that loves Jesus deeply but doesn’t want a microphone, a platform, or a stage.

We unpack the tension many people feel in church and Christian culture:

the pressure to be visible to be considered “faithful”

the assumption that obedience always looks public

the guilt that comes with not wanting the spotlight

and the fear that quiet faith means weak faith

This conversation is personal for us — because we’ve always been “back row people.”
      Not disengaged. Not checked out.
Just drawn to stillness, safety, and faith that doesn’t perform.

      We talk honestly about:

why being seen spiritually can feel uncomfortable

how church culture sometimes confuses visibility with obedience

why God often does His deepest work in the unseen

how faith can be strong without being loud

and how comparison and performance quietly distort our view of faith

Using Scripture like Psalm 46:10, Matthew 6:1–4, and 1 Samuel 16:7, we’re reminded that God isn’t looking for a platform — He’s looking at the heart.

      If you’ve ever felt:

      “I love Jesus… I just don’t want the stage.”

      This episode is for you.

    • Love Isn’t a Feeling — It’s the Decision to Give | UQPK Ep8
      Jan 8 2026

In this episode of UnqualifiedPk, we talk about one of the most overused — and misunderstood — words in Christianity: love.

Most of us grew up believing love was a feeling.
      Something emotional.
      Something warm.
Something that comes naturally when circumstances are good.

But when we slow down and look at Scripture, we start to realize:
biblical love doesn’t look anything like the version we’ve been taught.

      This conversation unpacks why:

      love isn’t primarily emotional
      love isn’t about comfort
      love often costs something
love is proven through sacrifice, not words

      We talk honestly about:

why love and suffering are often connected
how love can exist even when feelings disappear
why staying can be an act of love
how misunderstanding love has shaped our marriage
why love is often quiet, unseen, and uncelebrated
and why Jesus defines love through action, not emotion

Using Scripture and our own story, we wrestle with what it actually means to love — not in theory, not in a sermon, but in real life, when relationships are strained, seasons are heavy, and obedience feels costly.

      If you’ve ever thought:

“Why does love feel so hard?”
      or
“Why doesn’t love feel the way I expected it to?”

      …this episode is for you.

      We’re not experts.
      We’re not polished.
We’re just trying to love the way Christ loves — and figure it out as we go.

    • Joy Isn’t a Feeling — It’s the Decision to Stay | UQPK Ep7
      Dec 18 2025

In this episode of UnqualifiedPk, we wrestle with one of the most misunderstood words in Christianity: joy.

We both assumed joy was a feeling — excitement, happiness, a good season of life.
But the more we studied Scripture (and honestly questioned our own assumptions), the more we realized… we didn’t actually know what biblical joy was.

      This conversation unpacks why:

      joy isn’t circumstantial

joy isn’t pretending things are okay

joy often shows up in suffering, not the absence of it

joy is deeply connected to perseverance, eternity, and trust

      We talk openly about:

why happiness can be taken, but joy cannot

how guilt and shame can block joy

      why comparison quietly steals it

how joy can exist alongside grief

and why joy might simply be keeping the faith when quitting would be easier

Using James 1:2–3, John 16:22, and other Scripture, we try to make sense of what joy actually looks like in real life — not in theory, not in a sermon, but in the middle of pain, unanswered prayers, and ongoing struggles.

      If you’ve ever thought:

      “I don’t think I’m a joyful person…”

…this episode might give you a completely different perspective.
