À propos de ce contenu audio

Trusting Her Journey is a podcast dedicated to BIack women and women of color, who are silently struggling, but learning to trust themselves again.

This is for The Helpers, The Healers, The Fixers, and The Prayer Warriors everyone turns to.

When you’re always the “strong one”, it’s hard to admit you’re tired, that you need to rest, and that sometimes you don't know how to let go and ask for help.

Co-hosted by two Licensed Therapists (Christalyn and Felicia) this show gets beneath the surface of strong-woman survival mode, and into the real work of healing.

We have honest conversations about faith, fear, burnout, grief, shame, and overthinking. We talk about rebuilding self-trust. Letting go of over-giving. Learning to rest. And setting boundaries that actually stick.

In this podcast we're going deep but we're doing it together. This is your safe space. Here is where you can begin to trust your journey.

✨️ New episodes release every Monday morning so you can start your week with us.

    • Things We’re Unlearning in This Season of Life
      Feb 9 2026

In this episode of Trusting Her Journey, we’re talking about the quieter work that often gets overlooked: unlearning.

      Not fixing yourself.
      Not reinventing your life.
But gently letting go of beliefs, habits, and expectations that no longer fit the season you’re in.

This conversation is for the woman who’s realizing that what once worked for her doesn’t feel aligned anymore, and that maybe that doesn’t mean something is wrong. It might mean something is changing.

      We talk about:

      • What it looks like to unlearn behaviors rooted in people-pleasing, obligation, and old versions of yourself.
      • Why clarity around your values matters more than keeping the peace.
      • Letting go of FOMO, over-functioning, and forcing yourself into spaces that no longer fit.
      • How unlearning can feel uncomfortable before it feels freeing
Renewing your mind, not by becoming someone new, but by honoring who you are now.

We also offer a gentle rest stop for the week ahead:

      • A reflection question to help you notice what you no longer want to carry
      • An invitation to choose the simpler option when you can, without guilt or over-explaining

This isn’t a how-to episode. It’s a real conversation between two women navigating growth, alignment, faith, and changing capacity in real time. If you’ve been sensing a shift but couldn’t quite name it, this episode might help you put words to it.

New episodes drop every Monday to help you start your week grounded in truth. Because healing isn’t a performance, it’s a practice.

    • When You're Carrying Too Much: Emotional, Mental, and Sensory Overload
      Feb 2 2026

Have you been feeling like everything is “too much” lately?

In this episode, we talk about what it really means to be at capacity and why feeling overwhelmed doesn’t mean you’re overreacting, broken, or failing.

It might mean you’ve been carrying more than you were ever meant to carry.

We reflect on how many of us grew up watching women who rarely rested, how that shaped our relationship with slowing down, and why doing nothing can feel uncomfortable… even when our bodies are begging for it.

This conversation is an invitation to:

      • Notice when you’re doing too much
      • Release what God never asked you to carry
      • Stop shaming yourself for needing rest

If you’ve been feeling on edge, exhausted, irritated, or emotionally maxed out, this episode is for you.

      Reflection Question:
What’s the biggest thing draining me right now?

      You’re not weak.
      You’re not behind.
      You’re not overreacting.

You might just be at capacity.

And being at capacity is not your identity it’s a signal.

      Lower the load.
      Give yourself permission to breathe.

    • How to Keep Going When Life Keeps Interrupting
      Jan 26 2026

In Episode 2, Felicia and Christalyn talk about what to do when life interrupts your routines and goals. If you’ve been telling yourself, “I fell off again,” or beating yourself up for not staying consistent, this episode is for you.

We’re talking about how to keep going with real life happening without shame, guilt, or the pressure to start over every time something doesn't go as planned.

      In this episode, we cover:

      • Why everyday interruptions (kids out of school, busy seasons, schedule changes) can throw you off more than you expect
      • The spiraling self-talk that shows up after the interruption (“I should be able to handle this,” “I’m failing,” “here I go again”)
      • Why so many women isolate when they feel overwhelmed, and how that keeps things heavier
      • The difference between restarting and resuming (and why resuming can feel “messy,” but healthier)
      • How perfectionism shows up as procrastination, freezing, and “waiting for Monday”
      • What survival mode, decision fatigue, and the invisible load look like in real life
      • Asking for help sooner, before you’re drowning (practical examples included)
      • A faith reminder from Philippians 1:6 when you feel behind or discouraged

      Fuel for the Road Ahead:

      • Takeaway: When life interrupts, don’t reset your whole life, resume with one small step at a time.
      • Reflection Question: When life interrupts again, what would it look like to respond differently?
