We live in an age of complexity, surrounded by a rushing chaos that pulls our attention hither and yon, unrelenting from the moment we awake, until we close our eyes for slumber.
How do we, as simple creatures, corral this mad experience, gather it up and concentrate it down so that we can make some sense of the day, some sense of the moment?
Can we direct this riotous energy towards a useful end, direct our own divergent attentions so that they're not distracted by the 10,000 shining lights, but instead focus on something meaningful?
Is there a tool from which our collective efforts can flow towards a single goal? When we have finally brought some order to the chaos, can we perhaps use that tool, to make cake?
