This week, I speak with lifelong martial artist, Tham Boon Kit, a fifth-degree black belt in Kyokushin Karate, one of the strongest styles of full-contact Karate.
Boon Kit led the Singapore contingent to compete in the 1st World Junior, Women, and Seniors Karate Championship held in Tianjin on 3-5 October 2024.
He returned as the world champion in the under 75kg Masters category (45-50 years old) for Kumite at 48 years old.
Boon Kit is also the Singapore Branch Chief for IKAK (International Karate Alliance Kyokushinryu
We discuss and share our philosophies in martial arts, the importance of patience and whether or not MMA has taken away the interest of traditional martial arts.
