    • In Temptation | God With Us Week 1
      Feb 22 2026

Lent is often understood as a season of self-denial and reflection, yet it is also a journey we do not walk alone. In a time marked by uncertainty, unrest, and longing for renewal, this series invites us to remember that God is always with us. This season, as we practice self-examination, we trust that God walks beside us, shaping us more fully into who we are called to be in Jesus for the sake of the kingdom.

In moments of testing and vulnerability, God remains present, strengthening us to choose trust and faithfulness.

    • From dust to dust | Ash Wednesday Worship
      Feb 18 2026

Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent, a 40-day period of fasting, prayer, and penance observed by Christians as a time of preparation for Easter. Beginning with the imposition of ashes on the foreheads, that symbolizes our own mortality and repentance before God. The practice is a powerful, tangible reminder of the need for humility, reflection, and the turning away from sin toward God as we contemplate the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Ash Wednesday invites us into a season of deeper spiritual engagement and renewal. We know that traditional church isn't working for many people, maybe because it isn't exactly what Jesus had in mind when he called his followers to "make disciples."

Join us as we experiment with what it looks like to follow Jesus here and now in today's world. http://thevineumc.church

    • Faith In Full Color | Black History Month Sermon
      Feb 15 2026

From the very beginning, scripture tells us that humanity is made in the image of God. This is what we call the imago Dei. It is one of the most foundational claims of our faith: that every person carries God’s imprint, God’s likeness, God’s sacred mark. And yet, history tells a more complicated story. Not all images have been treated as equally sacred, not all lives have been honored the same, and not all bodies have been welcomed into our imagination of what holiness looks like.

Faith, whether we realize it or not, is shaped by what we learn to see.
