- The Psychedelic Club of Denver hosts the upcoming Psychedelic Cup on November 2 at Mile High Station in Denver, Colorado.
- The Psychedelic Cup will be a psilocybin mushroom growing competition where home growers can submit mushroom samples to be tested for potency and alkaloid content. There will be categories for highest psilocybin content, most average content, and others.
- Samples need at least 3 grams of whole fruits (cap and stem) and can be submitted to partner Altitude Consulting between August 14 and October 17. Each sample costs $40 to test in addition to an entry fee.
- In addition to the potency competition, there will be a mushroom beauty contest judging samples on appearance.
- The event on November 2 will be at Mile High Station and open to the public (21+ only). There will be speakers, music, food, and liquor, but no public consumption is allowed.
- The event's goals are to promote education and harm reduction around psilocybin mushrooms, bring the community together, and generate aggregate data on potencies that can be used for research.
- We also discuss confusion around some aspects of recent natural medicine laws in Colorado, confusion around the current public display regulations, Psychedelic Science 2023, and the need for evolution as a community as more expertise enters the policy space.
