À propos de ce contenu audio

The Paranormal Webb podcast is a series of 20 podcasts to reflect 140 years of paranormal research. Each podcast is around 30-40 minutes long. Each podcast takes a topic and discusses its evidence base and the strengths and weakness of the study. By the end of the 20 podcasts series, I hope you achieve these three things: (1) understand the theoretical and evidence base for the paranormal, (2) understand the strengths and weakness of theories into the paranormal, and (3) have robust evidence-based for whether paranormal phenomena exist or not. I don’t seek to change people’s attitudes to the paranormal, only to make people better informed of the actual research.Ian Webb Philosophie Science Sciences sociales

    • Theory of paranormal
      May 1 2023
This final podcast is divided into two sections. The first section provides an overview of all the evidence we have presented during the podcast. The second part discusses the theories of the paranormal. I argue that there is a significant amount of evidence for paranormal phenomena that can’t be ignored.

    • I say a little pray for you, Does distance healing work?
      Apr 27 2023
This is the last of the paranormal mini-series on bioenergetics or PK. In this podcast, we focus our attention on influencing biological systems at a distance. We discuss four main areas; (1) Placebo effect, (2) Cell/Biological Level, (3) Distance Healing, and (4) Prayer. We discuss the research evidence and conclude there is some evidence for influencing the non-system level. The research for distance healing and prayer is less robust. However, the research in the literature suggests there is an association between the quality of study design and positive results.

    • PK Influencing people’s attention & Dowsing
      Apr 24 2023
This is the first of two podcasts around whether people can influence objects without conventional methods, i.e., touching them. In this podcast, we discuss whether there is experimental evidence for the everyday experience of sensing someone looking at you. For example, when you turn around, there is someone there. We then discuss three main research areas, influencing a person’s attention, physical state, and lastly, we discuss dowsing. Overall, we discover there is a statistically significant experiment suggesting the phenomena are genuine.
