À propos de ce contenu audio

Welcome to the Music In Us Podcast, where we talk about all things music. We're a group of wildly different people from all walks of life, but we're all united by our love of music. We talk about everything from the latest hits to the classics, and we always have a lot of fun doing it. We believe that music is more than just entertainment. It's a powerful force that can shape our lives in profound ways. Music can make us happy, sad, angry, or inspired. It can help us connect with others and make sense of the world around us. We hope you'll join us on our journey through the world of music.Jay Rickard Musique

    • Bonus Episode: Name That Tune!
      Jun 26 2025

Shamelessly begging for engagements with this one!

Sometimes we get together to record with no mission, no assignment, no direction. I've decided to take one of those recording sessions and divide it up into Bonus episodes.

No intros, outros, bells or whistles. Just us blathering on about a song for a bit.

In THIS, first bonus episode of Season FIVE, we didn't even name the song while we yammered on about it. So YOU tell US what we were talking about. There are clues, listen and leave a comment on Spotify with your guess!

    • MIU S4E26 America's Sweetheart by Courtney Love
      May 7 2025

It's the end of season 4! That's right, we've done four entire seasons of this show and learned something from every episode. Season 5 is coming soon, we've already begun recording. There may be a shakeup on the horizon but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it!

Thank you to anyone who has listened from the beginning. You know we had a real shaky start. We had an idea and no skills, but got to it any way. Let's Hear It For The Boys! Ooh maybe we'll have to do another soundtrack episode soon.

TODAY, we're talking about America's Sweetheart. A particular favorite of mine from the oeuvre of Miss Courtney Love. (Who maaaay be recording something new for us? I don't know, I've just read a headline or two here and there)

Personally I've always liked it. Of course A.J. being the Nirvana/Kurt Cobain super fan that he is, has some things he'd like to say. And he does.

We also engage in point/counterpoint debate. We give the lady her props, for sure!

I think Virgin Records did her dirty by yanking her in and out of rehab to re-records bits. Picking the wrong songs, the wrong cut of songs. Just really giving the album the royal corporate fucking over. Courtney deserved better.

Have a feeling on the matter? Leave us a comment on Spotify and don't forget to rate the show! It will really help us out. Thanks again for hitting play. Enjoy the show!
