Hello and welcome to the first episode of Seeking the 80s. Lorraine and Raye are going back to 1984 to discuss The Karate Kid (John G. Avildsen)

The Karate Kid tells the story of Daniel LaRusso, played by Ralph Macchio, a teenager forced to move across the country with his mother. The move does not go well as he is constantly bullied by Johnny Lawrence, played by William Zabka and his goons from Cobra Kai. Cobra Kai is lead by sadistic sensei John Kreese who will stop at nothing to be number one.

Daniel befriends sensei Mr. Miyagi played by Pat Morita. Mr Miyagi would help Daniel protect himself through karate.
