This episode centers on a discussion of the first and second half of the spiritual life. Building off of our conversation with Chris Chase in episode 59, we talk about the shift from believing in God to experiencing God. The movement from belonging to a religion to living in relationship with the Divine. The shift does not follow a prescribed timeline and is often initiated through loss, failure, or suffering. If the first half of the spiritual life is about the journey to build a self, then the second half of live is about giving that self away.
