  • Me, TV and The Big C. - Kate Haskell Talks to Ian Downs
    Nov 22 2024

Kate Haskell has been a familiar face on television screens across the West Country for nearly 30 years, her infectious smile and upbeat personality never fails to brighten up even the dreariest of weather forecasts or news reports. For the fiercely dedicated family woman, growing up and now living in the West County was idilic, but in October 2022 a cancer diagnoses changed everything.

I’m Ian Downs a presenter, podcaster, and TV director and for the last few years I’ve have had the pleasure of directing some of Kate’s work at ITV. Having lost my mother to breast cancer in the 90’s I knew that Kate’s experiences would be able to give others a unique insight into what to expect during the stages of diagnoses, treatment and recovery, so we decided to record this podcast in the hope that even if it helped just one person, whether you’re the patient, a family member of a friend, we’d have done our job.

This is Kate’s story … Me, TV and the Big C.
