In this episode we look at what a slanderer and gossip are and how they are harmful to our daily walk with Christ. We ought to be careful to not slander others. Far too often we catch ourselves saying things about people that may or may not be true, and if it is not true then we are slandering an individual in a way that is not honoring to Christ.

Time Keller has an amazing book called Counterfeit gods where he goes into depth on the reality that we has humans celebrate certain idols. Tim Keller specifically mentions 4 idols: comfort, control, power, and acceptance. In this episode we explore the dangers of the idol of comfort and how to avoid it.

"Be imitators of me, as I imitate Christ" these are Paul's words to the Corinthian Church. The words are simple, yet impactful. Our kids will imitate us, whether we like it or not, and it is through that imitation that they will build their own character. Like the Apostle Paul, we too will influence our kids to where they will imitate us. We have to make sure that we imitate a good character so that our kids do the same. And when we fall short of having a good character, we acknowledge that to our kids too.

In America so many Christians have flipped the script. We make everything so political, that we have lost the center of it all: The Triune God. So many of us do not study theology anymore, and we make excuses for it. But it is the study of theology that will help us realign ourselves with the truth: this world does not need politics, it needs the gospel.

"Respect isn't given, it is earned" is a modern day mantra in the US, but biblically speaking respect is something that is gained from us giving it. Respect is something that all men desire to have from their peers, and it can be obtained by not listening to the world, but by listening to Jesus. Matthew 7:12 says, "So in everything, do unto others as you would have them do unto you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets." We treat others how we want to be treated, this is the way.

Love and respect are two things every marriage needs, but what does it look like for a wife to show respect to her husband? the Bible gives us a clear answer and the culture we live in does not give us a good example of what respect looks like. Let's explore this concept of respect.
