Mayor Bruce Harrell has decided that the Seattle Police Department needs literally more than 365 cameras across the city, a move that will threaten the safety of immigrants, people seeking abortions, and anyone in Seattle unlucky enough to be caught on grainy camera feed near the scene of a crime. On the couch to talk about this is BJ Last, from Stop Surveillance City, and returning guest Justin Ward, head of DivestSPD. Reminder that to stop Seattle morphing into the panopticon, submit a public comment by Sept. 9.

Key take aways: The Democracy Voucher program (which we still like) prevents candidates from raising enough money to execute as sophisticated of a communications strategy as Mamdani did, NYC progressives did not give Cuomo the political cover that Seattle progressives are giving Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell, P3 most likely won't spend in the mayor's race this year, and Ashley called Harrell daddy...
