  • Troy Feilds "Traditions Guide Service"
    Feb 23 2026

Troy Fields is a lifelong Maine woodsman and waterman, and the owner of Traditions Guide Service. Raised in the era of wool hunting clothes and L.L.Bean boots, Troy grew up learning the woods and waters of Maine alongside his father — lessons that shaped both his skills and his “old school” code of doing things right the first time.
From the Rangeley Lakes and Baxter State Park regions — where he fly fishes remote ponds for native brook trout — to battling stripers in the currents of the Saco River and bluefish on Saco Bay, Troy has spent decades building a life outdoors. He’s completed his own New England turkey slam, tagged a 907-pound bull moose in 2013, chased whitetails through southern Maine swamps, and followed the musical cry of his beagles trailing snowshoe hare through fresh snow.
Duck hunting became a calling in his mid-20s. What started with small boats, jump shooting brooks, and homemade sea duck long lines made from bleach bottles has evolved into a refined, traditional operation. Since 2004, Troy has held both a Master Maine Guide License and a USCG 100-Ton Master Captain’s License. Today, his spreads feature handcrafted New England decoys, classic L.L.Bean cork rigs, and his retriever Quill aboard the Duckwater — ready to greet clients and go to work.
Proudly blue collar, Troy understands the value of hard-earned money and hard-earned opportunity. His approach is simple: respect the tradition, respect the resource, and give every client an authentic Maine experience they’ll remember for the rest of their lives.

  • Steve Becker "Becker's Barbecue"
    Dec 23 2025

Steve Becker began his career 23 years ago at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard as a crane mechanic, a trade that taught him precision, discipline, and the value of hard work. Fifteen years ago, what started as a simple hobby—cooking barbecue—quickly became a passion. Thirteen years ago, Steve took that passion a step further by building his own smoker, laying the foundation for what would become much more than just backyard cooking.
Influenced early on by his Grandma Jo, Steve believes food has a unique power to bring people together. That belief still drives everything he does. For Steve, barbecue isn’t just about flavor—it’s about dedication, patience, and putting real heart into the craft.
Most recently, Steve teamed up with fabricator Scott Brouillard to build a rat-rod–themed food truck from an old Penske truck—despite neither of them having ever set foot inside a food truck before. The entire build process is documented on the Flipping Customized YouTube channel, showcasing their creativity, problem-solving, and relentless work ethic.
Steve Becker’s journey blends blue-collar grit, family tradition, and a deep passion for barbecue—proof that when skill and heart come together, something special is built.

This spring, she opened her private practice, Black Cat Counseling LLC, where she provides counseling services to children, adolescents, and adults through both telehealth and in-person sessions at her part-time office in Buxton.
