Good evening. Tennessee. I'm Aaron Jolly. Folks, if you stepped outside tonight and thought something felt off. You're right. Tennessee is sitting at 66 degrees right now. In early March. That's not the afternoon high. That's where we're after dark, with overnight lows barely dipping to 61. We're running a solid fifteen to twenty degrees above normal. In the next 24 hours. So what's going on? A big high pressure system camped off the Southeast coast is acting like a pump, pulling warm Gulf air straight up into our backyard. Think of it as a conveyor belt delivering May weather. In the first week of March. Tonight stays mild and mostly cloudy. Down in Nashville and across West Tennessee, you're holding in the lower 60s. Head east into the mountains and those valleys cool you into the lower 50s. Still remarkably warm for sleeping with the windows cracked. Wednesday cranks the dial even higher. Nashville hits 80 degrees. Memphis reaches 78. Knoxville climbs to 76. South winds pick up, gusting to 20 miles an hour by afternoon. West Tennessee might catch a brief shower late, but most of us stay dry. Now the week ahead gets interesting. Thursday and Friday push even warmer. Friday could touch 84 degrees in spots. Potential record territory. But that warmth comes with a price tag. A cold front barrels in Friday night, bringing showers and thunderstorms statewide through the weekend. One more thing before I let you go. Tonight's full moon rises right at sunset. With mainly clear skies early, step outside and take a look. We're gaining over two minutes of daylight each day now. Spring equinox is just two weeks out. I'll be tracking that Friday front all week. Charge your phones and keep an umbrella handy by Thursday night.
