  • Julie Chandelier - A story of perseverance and creative pursuit
    May 20 2026

Hello everyone and welcome to another episode of the TRVL° Photography Podcast. In this episode we sit down with Julie Chandelier to explore her journey as a photographer, storyteller, and creative force deeply connected to the natural world.Julie’s path has taken her across continents and cultures. Born to French parents and raised between Stockholm and Paris she grew up with a dual sense of identity that naturally expanded into a life of travel and exploration. From Europe to Australia and eventually settling in New Zealand her life has been shaped by movement, curiosity, and a constant pull toward the outdoors. Along the way she made bold decisions to step away from familiarity and stability, moving across the world to pursue new beginnings in places like Australia and New Zealand, often navigating uncertainty while building a life from scratch in completely different environments. Before fully stepping into photography and a travel driven lifestyle Julie worked in a range of corporate style roles that helped shape her resilience and work ethic. Those years were not always aligned with her creative ambitions, but they became an important part of her story, teaching her patience, adaptability, and the courage to eventually take the leap into a more purpose driven path. Her journey is a reminder that creative lives are often built gradually, through risk taking, persistence, and the willingness to start over when something deeper calls. We talk about how this global upbringing influenced her creative voice and how photography became the medium through which she expresses her relationship with nature. Whether she is out on open water searching for marine life, trekking through remote landscapes, or working in extreme environments, Julie’s work is grounded in patience presence and a strong sense of responsibility to the world she documents.Over the years she has collaborated on conservation focused projects and worked alongside researchers and organisations dedicated to environmental and community impact. Her imagery not only captures moments in the wild but also aims to inspire a deeper awareness of the fragile ecosystems she spends so much time within especially the ocean which has been central to her life since she first picked up a camera.Julie’s photography continues to evolve but her purpose remains clear using visual storytelling to foster connection curiosity and care for the natural world.Follow Julie’s work hereWebsite - https://www.juliechandelier.com/Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/julie_chandelier/Cheers and see you in the next episodeTRVL° Photographyhttps://trvlphotography.com/
