    • Ep.307: PETA: How Science Creates Monstrous Experimenters Like Harvard's LIvingstone
      Dec 20 2023

Animal experimenters like Harvard's Margaret Livingstone continue to spend your tax dollars on useless tests that only end up torturing and killing animals. Dr. Katherine Roe, a former NIH researcher and now chief scientist for PETA's Laboratory Investigations Department, discusses how researchers like Livingstone build a career on cruelty masquerading as curiosity, including her latest strobe tests with monkeys. Roe talks about her own career and how others fall into the "science" trap in this conversation with Emil Guillermo.

    • Ep. 40: PETA Claws back at Big Cat De-clawers
      Oct 31 2018

De-clawing is no manicure, it's big-cat mutilation. Yet despite general condemnation, some animal exhibits like tiger cub photo op encounters still de-claw animals.

Now, after PETA sued a vet, Rick Pelphrey, and a show runner, Tim Stark, a breakthrough.

Last week in Indiana, a judge created a legal precedent that makes de-clawing a violation of the Endangered Species Act.

PETA's Brittany Peet says it should have the effect of stopping declawing.

    • Ep.308: Identifying Animal: DxE's Co-Founder Wayne Hsiung on The Risks of Animal Rescue.
      Dec 27 2023

Wayne Hsiung was released on December 9, 2023 after serving a sentence of 38 days in a Sonoma County (Calif.) jail for trying to free animals from the cruelty of factory farms. I talked to Wayne as he prepared for the trial earlier in the year. He was optimistic, considering he had just beaten the attempts in Utah to convict him on similar charges. As we recount 2023, we reprise my conversation with Wayne in this encore podcast presentation.

Read about Hsiung's Sonoma Country conviction on his Substack blog, The Simple Heart.

Take action for the animals. Read about Smithfield case.
