The suffering, struggle, desire, loneliness, progress,oppression, and revolution of humanity are, in essence, anendless struggle against the void, death, and chance.

What is the ultimate truth of humanity? Perhaps it is simplythis: to create meaning in the meaningless, to smile in the face ofdeath, to dance in the void, to resonate in solitude.

Humanity attempts, through social structures, rituals, and theinvention of meaning, to resist this inner void, but every attempt ultimately fails. The underclass is simply the price humanity pays in its struggle against the void.

Institutions are humanity’s final answer to the question ofsecurity. The root of class oppression is that most people arewilling to trade away their own freedom and dignity for thesafety, stability, and order promised by the system.

Human beings fear real change, because change entailsuncertainty and risk. Society prefers to maintain unjust systemsrather than take a chance on the unknown. Institutions andcivilizations have inertia; collective fear of changing the currentorder persists unless absolutely necessary. So, even when weunderstand the nature of structural violence, we choose to let itpersist—because true change is what we fear the most.

This reveals the core paradox of institutional design. Anysystem that seeks long-term stability must constantly balanceliberty with security. Security requires order, and order oftendemands hierarchy, control, and the crystallization of classstructures. On the other hand, genuine freedom and equalityrarely deliver the sense of safety people long for.

Where is it all going? What does humanity truly want? If weare forever trapped in roles of slave and guard, mob and citizen,elite and sacrifice, then what is civilization? Is it evolution, ormerely a well-dressed repetition of chaos?We don’t need to answer now. But someday, we must.
