A sixty year old diabetic male is admitted with osteomyelitis of the navicular bone following an episode of cellulitis. Decision is made to arrange discharge with outpatient intravenous antimicrobial, therapy, or OPAT and a PICC line is requested by the team. The first question is what are the indications for PICC insertion and what would be the main complications of that procedure?
