  • UFC 303: Pereira vs. Procházka 2 - Reactions & Results - Super FIGHT Bros!
    Jul 10 2024
Yo, yo bros! Get ready for another thrilling episode of Super Fight Bros as we dive into the aftermath of UFC 303: Pereira vs. Procházka 2. Joining me this week is the one and only Wild Rick, a former American wrestler, bouncer and animal expert. Together, we'll break down all the action, discuss what went wrong and what went right, and share our thoughts on what's next for these fighters. In a last-minute twist, Brian Ortega dropped out, and Dan Ige stepped in with just 3 hours' notice to face Diego Lopes. Despite the sudden change, Lopes looked like he was struggling throughout the fight. Anthony Smith's performance was a major disappointment, and Ricky is officially no longer a fan. Mayra Bueno Silva’s fight ended in a doctor's stoppage due to a bad elbow cut, while Ian Machado-Garry vs. Michael "Venom" Page fight stirred controversy as some believed it should've been a draw, but Garry took the win with his grappling skills. The main event saw Jiri Procházka completely dominated by Alex Pereira, proving once again why Pereira is a force to be reckoned with. What's next for both fighters? We'll also dive into some hot topics: how to prevent fighters from dropping out last minute, whether Dan Ige deserves a last-minute fight bonus, if the card was cursed, and the irony of Conor McGregor dropping out from a broken toe while Alex Pereira won despite breaking his toe. • UFC 302: Makhachev vs. Poirier - Reactions & Results - Super FIGHT Bros!
    Jun 11 2024

Sup bros, we're back with another episode, and this time we're diving into UFC 302: Makhachev vs. Poirier. While this event promised to be a slugfest, it unfortunately turned into a bit of a snoozefest, with most fights going to decision. This was only the second card in UFC history with so many bouts decided by the judges.

Let's start with the co-main event. Sean Strickland vs. Paulo Costa was highly anticipated, given their reputations and strong online presences. However, the fight underperformed, leaving fans disappointed. Did Strickland play it safe, or was Costa unable to bring his usual explosiveness? We'll break down why this fight didn’t live up to the hype.

On a brighter note, Kevin Holland delivered a quick and impressive finish via armbar against Michał Oleksiejczuk. Are armbars becoming a cheat code in MMA? Should their use be scrutinized more closely, or are they just another legitimate weapon in a fighter’s arsenal?

The main event between Dustin Poirier and Islam Makhachev was a battle for the ages. This grueling war came down to the final round, showcasing the heart and skill of both fighters. With such a close and intense fight, we have to ask: Will Dustin retire after this war? And is Islam now the pound-for-pound greatest fighter of all time?

Joining us today is Minute Mary. Known for her tardiness and bad time management, Mary is a die-hard UFC fan who trains Jiu Jitsu at Rockland Grapplers. Beyond analyzing UFC 302, we’ll discuss whether 302 felt more like a Trump rally, my experience watching at 4 AM from Italy, and how we battled falling asleep during the card. We'll also cover who won our battle in predictions, whether fans only want knockouts, the UFC 300 hangover, and if $300k bonuses are enough incentive to actually fight. Finally, we'll ponder if UFC 303 is actually going to happen.

So grab a drink, sit back, and tune in for an in-depth and entertaining recap of UFC 302!
