Once you start collecting records, it's a good idea to know different tips and tricks to keep them playing in great shape for years to come. From basic knowledge such as keeping your records upright, to more meticulous techniques such as having anti-static sleeves for each record — I'll give you some of my own practices and habits and the tips I've learned along the way.

In this episode of Spin City, we take a deep dive into the process of sound being produced from a vinyl record on a turntable to an external speaker. We also look at the difference between Moving Coil cartridges and Moving Magnet cartridges, as well as a read into Fidelity Record Pressing, an independent company in Oxnard, CA led by father and son team Rick and Edward Hashimoto and co-founded by Music Direct President Jim Davis.
