  • 31: Stop Settling for Good Enough with Lianne Kim
    Nov 13 2023

In Episode 31, Jessica and Lexie had the pleasure of chatting with Lianne Kim, business coach and founder of Mamas & Co. - a community for mama entrepreneurs.

Lianne is on a mission to help women make a great living doing what they love, and her passion and enthusiasm for her work definitely radiated throughout the episode!

As the title suggests, our topic today was all about not settling for less or for “good enough”. We discussed the three areas where women tend to settle in their lives, making achieving their goals harder to reach.

Lianne shared lessons learned from her experiences working with clients, and how she often sees that women, mamas, and business owners are watering down their goals for fear of pushing through the glass ceiling.

This episode is for you if you’re ready to take the next steps in your business, if you’re feeling stuck at all in your career, and if you’re done settling for “good enough” and ready to go after the dream!

  • 30: Get Littles Organized with Lauren Mang
    Nov 9 2023

While we ultimately landed on the topic of getting littles organized, our conversation with Lauren Mang of Let Me Organize It went so much deeper.

We discussed everything from using holistic home organization to save time and energy to setting boundaries and living mindfully, and even how to make organization fun for the whole family! Lauren has such a wealth of knowledge and experience that it would have been challenging not to discuss all of the above.

In her business Get Littles Organized, Lauren helps families with children ranging from six months to six years - and beyond - make organization approachable and achievable (without the dreaded heaviness of “chores”). We also discuss how these simple shifts in the home - that involve the entire family - will help set your littles up for success later in life.

Lauren is launching a program this month called Calm your Chaos, which will help families with the latter. We highly recommend you check it out!

  • 28: Being More Intentional with Our Time
    Oct 16 2023

In Episode 28, Lexie talks about how using intention in your daily life can help you to find more presence.

Especially now, with the holidays quickly approaching, it is important to be able to slow down and allow yourself to rest, celebrate, find peace, and recharge for the year ahead. This is not a time for quick, fiery action, but a time to harvest the fruits of your labor.

As you add the lenses of intention into your daily life, you’ll find yourself able to make better - more aligned - decisions. Be intentional with your time. Be intentional with what you eat. Be intentional with how you show up for yourself and for others. You can be intentional about your fitness, getting outside, or even simply taking 5 minutes a day for self care.

If you struggle with being present or prioritizing and making space for what is important to you, then listen in as Lexie shares easy, actionable ways to set and keep intentions top of mind.

  • 27: How to Leave your Toxic Workplace Behind (Without Changing Jobs) with Phallyn Folse
    Oct 9 2023

The idea of being an entrepreneur and starting a business sounds so glamorous, but for a lot of us it’s not an actual possibility (at least right now). If you’re the breadwinner in the family, the one providing insurance, or just not interested in being an entrepreneur in general, our guest Phallyn Folse is here to recognize it and meet you where you’re at.

After experiencing the reality of a toxic workplace herself Phallyn decided to take matters into her own hands and change her reality, without changing jobs. Now, she’s here to help others do the same.

Through mindfulness practices and Feng Shui, Phallyn helps her clients transform their toxic and draining work situations into positive ones, where they can come home at the end of the day feeling fulfilled.

I loved this conversation so much, as it is such a nice balance to the “start your own business” conversations that are out there. While I know Jess and I are big believers in finding your purpose and taking action, we know that it’s not always an option. If you’re feeling stuck, drained, or uninspired by your work, then this is the episode for you!

  • 26: Using Intention to Make Aligned Decisions
    Oct 1 2023

It’s October and with it comes a new intention of the month! This month’s theme is actually, well, “intention”. How to use it to make decisions that are in alignment with your highest purpose, and how to quiet all of the noise that tries to pull you away from it.

In this episode, Lexie discusses how it becomes harder and harder to make guided choices when we are inundated with ads and “solutions” every day. In fact, we see up to 10,000 ads per day! No wonder it’s hard to make decisions.

She specifically calls out why you might not be manifesting your goals because you’re stuck in a cycle of defining your success by giving away your power. For example, are you someone who takes course after course trying to prove your worthiness or to seek perfection in the process, but then somehow you keep coming up short?

Because Lexie also has been stuck in that cycle, she specifically speaks to courses as an example, and provides valuable tips for finding alignment before moving forward with an investment or another opportunity where you’re allowing someone else to define you or your process.

  • 25: Recognizing Negative Self-Worth Patterns and Asking for More
    Sep 25 2023

In Episode 25, Jess shares her viewpoint on self-worth - what she believes makes her worthy, what she is worthy of, and how she makes space for it all.

We also discuss how to recognize if negative self-worth patterns are setting you back, and how to ask your partner, friends, family, etc. for help so that you can begin to align with your worthiness.

There are so many things that can hold us back from stepping into our worth - from imposter syndrome and perceived lack of knowledge to financial situations and more. We touch on a few in the episode and share examples of our own negative self-worth habits, like not speaking up for what we want. And, that a lot of the time what we desire is on the other side of a difficult conversation or a fear that we carry.

If you missed out on the self-worth challenge, do not fret! These questions and mantras can be practiced at any time, anywhere. The only way forward is through!

    September Intention Setting Journal Prompts:

    • What makes you worthy?
    • What are you worthy of?
    • Why do you identify the above with your worth?
    • Where in your life can you make space for what you are worthy of?
    • Are you attaching your self-worth to how others see you?

Create a mantra for your month and tape it up to your mirror, create a daily phone reminder, or even make it your cell phone background:

“I am worthy of____ because ____.”

“I am making space for _____ because I am worthy.”

  • 24: Advocating for Yourself in Pregnancy and Beyond with Nancy Pol, MSN, APRN, CNM
    Sep 18 2023

One of the most important things that Jess and I believe women deserve to feel is the confidence to advocate for themselves. Whether that’s in their workplace, with health professionals, in their personal life, or even in pregnancy, being your best advocate is so important.

In Episode 24, we chatted with Certified Nurse-Midwife, Nancy Pol, of Emergence Midwifery + Wellness. Our conversation includes everything from what working with a midwife looks like to how Nancy started her practice, and even how she provides her team with multiple weeks off during the holiday season. (By advocating for boundaries and expressing expectations, of course!)

We also chat about the importance of following your intuition as a woman, advocating for your needs, and stepping out of fear to achieve the outcome you desire. So often, our voices are silenced by our desire to fit in or be “easy going”, while our intuition is screaming at us that something isn’t right or that this isn’t what we want.

Being able to listen in and speak up for yourself is a powerful self-worth skill, and so incredibly important - especially when you’re about to bring life into the world! We were so grateful to have Nancy on the podcast to talk about her soul-driven purpose, and express the importance of these topics. If you are local to the Phoenix area and expecting you can connect with Nancy at www.emergencemidwifery.com. And, follow along with her on Instagram at Instagram/emergence_midwifery.
