John Chapter 7 – Bold Faith, Divided Opinions & Showing Up Anyway

In Episode 9 of Sis, What’s the Purpose?, we open our Bibles and dive into John Chapter 7—a chapter filled with tension, divided opinions, and a powerful reminder of what it looks like to follow Jesus when not everyone understands.

In this chapter, we see Jesus navigating doubt, criticism, and mixed reactions from those around Him—yet He remains fully obedient to God’s timing and purpose. We talk about what it looks like to stand firm in your faith when others question your choices, misunderstand your heart, or expect you to move before God says it’s time.

As always, we break Scripture down the same way we would at the kitchen table—honest, relatable, sometimes emotional, sometimes funny, and always real. We reflect on trusting God’s timing, speaking truth boldly, and choosing obedience even when it feels uncomfortable or lonely.

    If you’ve ever:
    • Felt misunderstood in your faith
    • Struggled with waiting on God’s timing
    • Felt torn between pleasing people and pleasing God
    • Wondered if you’re doing “enough”

    This episode is for you.

Grab your Bible, your coffee, and pull up a chair—because this one hits close to home. 🤍

In this episode of Sis, What’s the Purpose?, we dive into John Chapter 6 — a chapter that challenges our faith, stretches our understanding, and asks us a hard but honest question: Why are we really following Jesus?

We walk through the feeding of the 5,000, Jesus walking on water, and the powerful moment where He declares, “I am the Bread of Life.” But we don’t rush past it. We slow down and talk about what it means to be spiritually hungry, to chase God for who He is and not just what He can do for us.

This chapter gets uncomfortable — people walk away, faith is tested, and belief goes deeper than miracles. We talk about obedience, trust, disappointment, and choosing to stay when following Jesus isn’t easy or convenient.

As always, this conversation feels like sitting at the kitchen table with your sisters — honest, vulnerable, a little emotional, and full of real-life application for moms, women, and anyone trying to walk out their faith in the middle of everyday chaos.

If you’ve ever felt spiritually hungry, confused, or challenged in your walk… this episode is for you.

Grab your Bible, open to John 6, and let’s dig in together. 💭📖💛

In this episode of Sis, What’s the Purpose?, we open our Bibles to John chapter 5 and walk through one of the most powerful moments of Jesus’ ministry — healing at the Pool of Bethesda.

We talk about waiting seasons, unanswered prayers, and what it feels like to be stuck in the same place for far too long. This chapter reminds us that Jesus sees us right where we are, asks hard but loving questions, and invites us to get up — even when healing doesn’t look the way we expected.

We also dive into why Jesus healed on the Sabbath, the tension it created, and what it teaches us about religion versus relationship, grace versus rules, and the authority of Jesus as the Son of God. John 5 challenges us to examine where we place our trust and whether we’re willing to move when Jesus tells us to rise.

If you’ve ever felt overlooked, discouraged, or weary from waiting — this episode is for you. Come sit with us as we unpack truth, share real life, and let God speak through His Word.

Episode 6 | John Chapter 4 — Showing Up Even When It’s Hard

In Episode 6 of Sis, What’s the Purpose?, we open our Bibles to John Chapter 4 and open our hearts just as much.

This episode is raw, honest, and real. Londi shares openly about the struggle she’s been facing since being baptized — feeling stretched thin, emotionally overwhelmed, and caught in a quiet war within herself. We talk about what it looks like to keep showing up for Bible study even when life feels heavy, messy, and exhausting… because faith doesn’t mean we stop struggling — it means we keep choosing Him anyway.

We dive into the powerful truths in John 4, reminding ourselves that Jesus meets us exactly where we are — weary, thirsty, and searching — and offers living water when we feel like we have nothing left to give.

And of course, because this is real life, Melinda’s bunny Arlington makes a surprise appearance at the end and causes a little ruckus — because laughter and chaos tend to show up right when emotions are running high.

This episode is a gentle reminder to be kind — to others and to yourself. To give grace. To show up even when you don’t feel strong. And to plant the seeds God asks us to plant… trusting Him to do the rest.

If this episode speaks to you, we encourage you to share it with someone who might need it. Sometimes planting a seed is as simple as pressing “share.”

    💛 We’re so glad you’re here.

In this episode of Sis, What’s the Purpose?, we open our Bibles and dive into John Chapter 3, one of the most powerful and widely known chapters in all of Scripture.

This is the chapter where Jesus meets Nicodemus and introduces the life-changing truth of being “born again.” We slow it down and break it apart together—talking through faith, salvation, identity, and what it truly means to follow Jesus beyond religion, rules, or appearances.

And yes… this is the chapter that gives us John 3:16—but we don’t just quote it.
    We talk about it.
    We feel it.
We apply it to real life as women, moms, sisters, and believers trying to walk this out daily.

We see His compassion, His authority, His timing, and His deep passion for God’s house. But we don’t just read it…
we break it down like sisters at the kitchen table — real, honest, a little emotional, full of laughter, reflection, and those “wait… what does that mean?” moments we all have when studying the Word.

    John 1:35–51

In this episode of Sis, What’s the Purpose?, we’re continuing our journey through the Gospel of John — stepping into John 1:35–51 and watching some of Jesus’ very first disciples meet Him for the very first time.

These verses give us such a beautiful look at how Jesus calls people personally, gently, and intentionally. From John the Baptist pointing his followers toward Jesus, to Andrew running to tell his brother, to Philip and Nathanael’s unforgettable moment under the fig tree… it’s a passage full of calling, curiosity, purpose, and those “only God” moments that change everything.
But we don’t just read it…
we break it down like sisters at the kitchen table — real, honest, excited, a little emotional, full of laughter, reflection, and those “hold up… what just happened?” moments we all have when studying the Word.

Melinda and I talk through what it truly means to follow Jesus, how He sees us before we ever see Him, how He calls us into purpose one step at a time, and how small invitations (“come and see”) can change the entire direction of a life.
Whether you’re a mom, a wife, brand-new to the Bible, or simply searching for deeper understanding… you’ll feel right at home with us.

If you’ve ever wanted Scripture to feel more relatable, more practical, and more connected to your everyday life, this episode is for you.
