Today, the once great American Chestnut Tree is functionally extinct. But that hopefully will not be the case for long! 

Dr. Andy Newhouse from the American Chestnut Research and Restoration Project joins the show to discuss the work being done to bring these trees back to our forests.

We trace the history of the American Chestnut, its demise, and the work being done to bring a genetically modified version of the three back to prominence.
