À propos de ce contenu audio
This episode with Lillian Cauldwell - Scam DamNation - examines eight classic scams that many Baby Boomers encountered throughout the 20th century, including chain-letter money schemes, encyclopedia and book-set sales, fake magazine subscriptions, “you’ve won a prize” phone calls, work-from-home assembly jobs, bogus charity donation requests, gold-coin and collectible investment scams, and deceptive travel-club memberships.
Built on trust, authority, and official-looking paperwork, these schemes thrived in an era when verification was difficult — and many of the same tactics are still being used today.
